About Pygauntlet

Pygauntlet is a video game developed in Python at the University of California, Riverside. The original team of 7 members all graduated and went their separate ways, but the project has been released as open source in 2006. Very little work has been done on it since the class with the main notable difference being a 3D rendering system that still uses sprites, but allows for 3D walls.

To play Pygauntlet right now, you pretty much need to be familiar with command line tools and be willing to install some 3rd party packages on your system to get it to work. Visit the google code page if you are interested in checking out the source. One goal of the current project is to develop a packaged version of the game that anyone can download and double click to play. When this becomes available it will be posted on this blog.
